Today, ACNielsen is one of the largest businesses of VNU, a world leader in marketing information, media measurement and information and business media, with headquarters in Haarlem, the Netherlands, and New York. VNU’s acquisition of ACNielsen in 2001 reunited the business with Nielsen Media Research under the same corporate parent.
As part of VNU’s Marketing Information (MI) group, ACNielsen is playing a leading role in the development of a new generation of VNU business solutions for client’s marketing issues. The principal members of the MI group, in addition to ACNielsen, are the VNU Advisory Services companies Spectra, BASES, Claritas and HCI. VNU Advisory Services also draws on the resources of the entire MI group and other other VNU businesses, along with third party capabilities, to develop new, integrated services and approaches to client service.
ACNielsen also is collaborating with members of the VNU Media Measurement & Information group, especially Nielsen Media Research, on new services that integrate consumer-focused marketing and media information.
VNU’s properties in its Business Media group include such publications as Adweek, Convenience Store News and Progressive Grocer, among other leading trade magazines. The group also is a leading producer of trade shows and conferences.
